Early Morning Jog: The Sharp Chill and the Hidden Colors of Winter

Every time I feel the sharp, biting chill of a winter morning on my cheeks and ears, I am transported back to my childhood. I remember the early morning jogs for marathon practice. In that hour, the world is still wrapped in a profound silence that you can’t find during the day.

As I ran through the cold, gray morning, two things would suddenly burst into my vision: the rising sun painting the sky in a fiery orange, and the vibrant colors I wore to brave the cold—my pale pink jacket and a multi-colored striped scarf with flashes of purple, green, and passion pink. My white breath would trail behind me like a small cloud.

  1. Kame-nozoki (Pale Aqua / #A5DEE4) The sharp, transparent air before sunrise. A delicate white with just a whisper of blue that feels crisp against the skin.
  1. Akebono-iro (Dawn Orange / #F19072) A burning orange that appears as if piercing through the winter sky. The color of awakening hope.
  1. Ara-zome (Pale Rose / #FFB3A7) A soft pink that glows within a cold landscape—like the nostalgic color of a cherished jacket from memory.

The Inspiration: I created this texture to express that “silent cold.” While the base is a quiet, layered white—like frozen breath—there are hints of warmth hidden within, just like the colors of the sunrise and the warmth of a child’s determination.
